Dream Big Program

On November 17th, 2007 the Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Program held the first “Dream Big” Youth Summit. The summit centered on instilling entrepreneurship and creative thinking ideas in youth within our local area. It was held on the West Campus of Forsyth Technical Community College. The event was attended by approximately 60 youth from our six county region.

The youth were exposed to several dynamic presenters who held workshops ranging from “What is an Entrepreneur” to “Goal Setting”. They also have the opportunity to take part in a business plan competition. The winners will be able to win some “seed” money that can go towards helping them establish their own “small business”. Those winners will be announced in the Spring when the second “Dream Big” Youth Summit is held.

The Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Program is committed to exposing youth in our local area to as many opportunities as possible. And we believe that this is the start to a great opportunity!
